The way I apply my belief in anarchy is by trying to live by the principles in my own life. Since I’m living by the principle of non-aggression, it would be entirely hypocritical for me to use any violent or coercive means to achieve my ends. Hence why I’m not voting, because voting (even if there was some hope in it reducing the size of government) is rooted in the violent idea that a majority of people have the right to make decisions for the minority and pluralities. I assume that this sounds like a really radical, impractical way to view democracy, but I have gotten in touch with the moral principles and that is where my concern is. Also, there are books by free-market thinkers who propose how we could operate without government programs and with everyone having complete freedom. It may not be something I see actualized in my lifetime, but free-market anarchy is not intended to be utopian anyway. I see it like this: when someone realizes an institution is wrong (i.e. racism), a small minority begins to actively work against it. It often takes years and years for these seemingly “radical” ideas to take hold. For example, John Locke and John Stuart Mill, without whose philosophical works we would still be British, never got to see the American Revolution. That does not make their contribution any less valuable. In fact, I see it as even more honorable to stand up for an idea that does not involve any kind of instant gratification.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the day I became a libertarian.

This has been the most intellectually and morally productive year of my life. This anniversary marks an important logical stepping stone on the path of total rejection of the state.

The Obama administration approved an additional $70 million for an Israeli missile defense program, also known as the “Iron Dome.”

…on top of the $200 million already set aside for Israel’s missile defense.

…..and on top of the $3 billion in U.S. military annual aid.

Meanwhile in the U.S., schools are being closed, student debt has surpassed $1 trillion this year, thousands of homes are being foreclosed, 50 million Americans still don’t have health insurance & the list goes on.

Instead, billions are going to Israel for weapons & tanks to terrorize Palestinians, destroy their homes, hospitals & schools, & imprison them without any formal charge.

OBAMA 2012…… ARE YOU IN?

A vote for Obama is a vote for $70 million in bombs that aren’t even ours.

DeLuna was innocent.

One is pretty much right over the area my house is in. Crap… As if the ghetto birds aren’t enough… FYI by ghetto birds I mean Police Helicopters we get 3-6 times a week searching for someone or something…

I get an Apache or Blackhawk over my house (and i mean RIGHT over my house) at about 500 ft every 10 minutes. Gotta love the training if you’re gonna love what they do. :P

As for the drones, I disapprove. I know the expectation of privacy is 0 when you leave your house but actively tracking and following a person is crossing the line.

I just like to think if I am with anyone in my own home. It is just them and I. Can you imagine thinking while you are with a girl, possibly some pervert is watching you thousands of feet above. I mean, I like to think at home, I can relax. Grab a soda, or beer. Have a cigar or a pipe, watch the news, netflix, or etc. and blog.

This is just a power begging to be abused is all I am saying.

Omar Khadr, a sixteen year old Guantanamo Bay detainee weeps uncontrollably, clutching at his face and hair as he calls out for his mother to save him from his torment. “Ya Ummi, Ya Ummi (Oh Mother, Oh Mother),” he wails repeatedly, hauntingly with each breath he takes.

The surveillance tapes, released by Khadr’s defence, show him left alone in an interrogation room for a “break” after he tried complaining to CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) officers about his poor health due to insufficient medical attention. Ignoring his complaints and trying to get him to make false confessions, the officers get frustrated with the sixteen year old’s tears and tell him to get himself together by the time they come back from their break.

“You don’t care about me. Nobody cares about me,” he sobs to them.

The tapes show how the officers manipulated Khadr into thinking that they were helping him because they were also Canadian and how they taunted him with the prospect of home (Canada), (good) food, and familial reunion.

Khadr, a Canadian, was taken into US custody at the age of fifteen, tortured and refused medical attention because he wouldn’t attest to being a member of Al Qaeda, even though he was shot three times in the chest and had shrapnel embedded in his eyes and right shoulder. As a result, Khadr’s left eye is now permanently blind, the vision in his right eye is deteriorating, he develops severe pain in his right shoulder when the temperature drops, and he suffers from extreme nightmares.

He has been incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay since 2002, suffering extremely harsh interrogations and torture (methods), and is now 25 years old.

A just society does not tolerate such barbarity.

How can everyone ignore this?
