Anonymous asked:

Can you make a list of the way in which our government has infringed upon our civil liberties?

The short and honest answer is “no.” I couldn’t possibly make a cohesive list of every single way the government has infringed on our civil liberties. Furthermore, I feel like all liberty is interconnected and therefore what some people might consider “economic” liberties, I can relate to a civil liberty. I will leave those out. However, here is an extremely abbreviated list of some civil liberties infringements that I could think of off the top of my head:

The National Defense Authorization Act
The TSA
The Patriot Act
The War on Drugs
The FCC’s censorship policies
Impossibly strict gun laws
Police surveillance strategies and militarization
H.R. 347 (Anti-Protest Bill)
Unwarranted assassinations of American citizens, ordered by Obama (Anwar Al-Alwaqi and his 16 year old son)

Feel free to ask me in more detail about any of these specific instances.
